The annual crowning of Carnival Queen Miss Cromer burst into life when Andreas Yiasimi, lead singer of acclaimed international music group, The Constantia Brothers, stunned hundreds of onlookers with a hip shaking musical performance. The new Carnival song called 'Wanna Tell Everyone How I feel' was revealed on the town's pier forecourt. Normally a fairly official style event, the crowning, as usual, was watched by people sitting along the promenade and lining up the pathways leading into town.
Lucy Hyam, received the crown from Andreas after the speeches. But then Mr Yiasimi added his own glitzy rock and roll flavor to the proceedings by performing a new song he recorded in the last few days about the carnival "I think they were expecting a love ballad, which is certainly not what it is," said Mr Yiasimi. "It's upbeat, rocky and supposed to get everyone into carnival spirit. I would love it to become the Cromer Carnival theme tune if people like it enough" He said It had been a "Real honour and a pleasure" to be asked to crown the carnival queen and he wanted to make it an occasion to remember.
Andreas took time off from family run restaurant where he works to record the track at Norwich Recording Studios. So far the song has had a lot of air play on local radio and is accumulating hits on video sharing sites like You Tube. Top musicians were drafted in for the big production style project that seems set to become a Cromer Carnival favorite for years to come.
