Miss England Regional Heats Sensation

Beauty Pageant 1st runner up and Miss Charity, Rebecca Jane Richardson has been sensationally handed the Miss Colchester title after winner Chelsea Clarke voluntarily opted out. Chelsea is currently a musical theater student and the main star in her final performance which clashed with the pageant semi finals, it was inevitable someone had to take her place to allow her to pursue her theatrical future. Rebecca Richardson is coincidentally a former theater student as well and so what has been hailed as, the drama queen swop shock, was set into motion.

The Rebecca Richardson team has been thrown back into a barrage of media attention overnight and have had to pull out all the stops almost immediately. Rebecca's main sponsor, top UK photographer Marcello Pozzetti of Prima Donna Studios has been placed firmly back into the driving seat and now stands a chance of following Rebecca all the way to the Miss England finals. Rebecca was still pinching herself yesterday to make sure it wasn't a dream "When I spoke to Chelsea she bought tears to my eyes" explained Rebecca "Chelsea said she knew how hard I had worked for the competition and how much it meant to me. That's what eased her decision"

The Miss Colchester competition unfolded at the stylish Stoke-on-Nayland Club in April 2010 and was hosted by Chic Event Management. It was an impressive line up and the bevy of beauties were put to the test in three familiar sections, swim wear, club wear and evening dress. Judges included photographer John Bamford and Miss England, Katrina Hodge. I wonder what the odds were for this regional heat to go into extra time long after the final results, not even 'Miss Congeniality' would have guessed the outcome to this one. Initially Rebecca thought it was an April fools joke when it was announced the crown will be past on to her "This type of thing happens in the movies" said Rebecca "I would like to thank Prima Donna Studios for believing in me, Marcello is such an inspiration together with Jordan from Portal PR who helped me during the preparation leading up to the big event"
